Prescription Ordering Direct

BACK TO MAIN INDEX

Some of you will have been using the POD to request your repeat medication. Unfortunately, NHS England is stopping funding this service at the end of March.

We want to help you have a smooth transition over to the new system and for us to continue to process your medication promptly and safely.

From March, there will be two ways of requesting your medication – through the NHS App or in writing at the surgery.

The NHS App is a very accessible way of managing your medication requests. Patients who use it say it is very quick and easy, with the prescription request safely processed within 2 working days at the practice. If you do not have a smart phone or internet connection, you can nominate someone else to do this on your behalf as a proxy.

We recognise using the App may be a little tricky initially for some of you, so we have enlisted the help of our friendly patient reference group to support individuals with this. A representative will be in the surgery on the morning of Monday 26th February 9am to 11:30am, to help anyone upload and use the NHS App.

If you are unable to use the App, the other option it to drop off a paper copy of your request in our red post box at the entrance to the waiting room.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to take medication requests over the phone, as this is not safe and will limit our phone line availability for patients who need to access medical care.
