Patient Participation Group

In June we had our Patient Participation Group awareness week. PPGs provide a great volunteer service which help shape the way your practice work. Our volunteers were around the surgery to give out information and help sign up new members. For more information on our PPG and how it works please visit the PPG page on this website

Summer Care

Stay safe in the sun to help prevent the development of skin cancer. Some tips include: drinking plenty of water, covering up with a hat and sleeves, wearing a 5* UVA protection sun cream, wearing sunglasses and limiting your time in the sun.

Charity News and Events

Our charity book table has been very popular and we have raised over £200 so far for Macmillan Cancer Support.

We will keep the table going and welcome book donations.

Welcome Jana

This month we welcome our new Practice Manager Jana Lloyd.

Jana is a health psychologist by training, with over 16 years in the NHS working in various settings including being a Public Health Specialist and Long Terms conditioning commissioner for a CCG and Head of Transformation for a GP Federation.

Jana recently relocated from London to the West Midlands with her husband and four boys; including a fury baby. She joins the FMC family with great enthusiasm and passion for primary care, and a desire to deliver outstanding care for our patients.

Cervical Screening Awareness

June saw a drive in Cervical Screening Awareness. As a practice we aim to provide information and services to enable patients to look after their health. We are passionate about bringing cervical screening to the forefront of peoples minds and regularly do screening awareness campaigns.

We decorated Reception, had a fundraising event and encouraged anyone with a cervix to book for their regular screening with special clinics provided to do this.

For more information about cervical screening please visit the Jo’s Trust website
